As we once again enter the Lenten Season, the Imagination of Good Friday comes ever nearer to us. Each Gospel gives rise to an aspect of the Death of Christ. In the 20th century, Rudolf Steiner gave us further Imaginations, through the Fifth Gospel and his lectures on the canonical Gospels, the Etheric Christ and Esoteric Christianity.

Arising from his work, the Imagination of the Crucifixion (Good Friday) can now be seen in light of the evolution of the Individual, Humanity and the Earth. Each of those who stood at the Foot of the Cross, indicate a future impulse of evolution, and through meditation can lead to an ever deepening understanding of the Golgotha event.

Using Rudolf Steiner’s concepts, ideas, understanding and beholding of The Mystery of Golgotha, as a brush, we can paint an Imagination that deepens and enlivens this year’s coming Easter Season.
Micky Leach was first introduced to Anthroposophy as a college student in 1980, and has been active in the Anthroposophical Society and its initiatives for the past 45 years. She is a member of the School for Spiritual Science, former member of the Western Regional Council and a former member of the General Council. In the late 1980’s she was a founding  Board Member of the City of Lakes Waldorf school in Minneapolis, MN. After her move to Santa Fe, NM was twice asked to serve as a Trustee for the Santa Fe Waldorf School. Growing up with the Christian Festivals brought meaning and questions to her inner life. After meeting anthroposophy this became the catalyst to continue this quest for what Rudolf Steiner spoke of as The Mystery of Golgotha. She is still deepening this search today.

Phoenix painting-2

Poem by Peter Rennick

The Phoenix is a made-up bird

The fierce head of an eagle

The brilliant colors of a pheasant

The wide wingspread of an angel

Can’t you see it’s love’s emblem

Bathed and burning in the fire

Of its own freeing destruction

Every evening smoldering to ashes

Which the earth gladly accepts

And carries to its central source

Every dawn it’s sent

Aloft again however love

Construes it even now

It’s kindling its assumption

In your heart’s imminent flight

What we stand for
